Chapter 86 - Dominic's Abduction

Dominic entered the living room and was glad to see his father alone, if he didn't talk to someone soon he felt as if he would go mad.

Sitting down next to his father he turned to him and said "Dad I need to talk to you."


"I am so stressed I don't know what to do or even if you are going to believe me, it's the strangest story." Merlin looked on concerned, but attentive and Dominic continued.

"It was the night of Naomi's wedding. All the guests had gone and for some reason I just want to go out into the snowy night. I saw the telescope and decided to take a look.

I had only been looking a minute and saw a bright light flash across the sky. I followed it and it disappeared around the front of the house. Abandoning the telescope I ran round the front of the house and saw a collection of coloured lights hovering in the air.

As I watched entranced a spaceship appeared in the air above me.

I should have turned and ran, but I was so surprised I stood there looking up at it. It then sent down a beam of light which dragged me inside.

I blacked out but when I came to there was an alien woman. She had large black eyes and green skin and she was completely naked."

Dominic stopped here blushing at the remembrance  but he knew he needed to tell someone what had happened.

Steeling himself he continued "For some reason I was filled with passion for the alien and we, erm, you know." Dominic continued more quickly "I don't know what I was thinking, perhaps I was drugged, but that was the last thing I remembered. I awoke on the snow took myself to bed and tried to convince myself I had had some sort of bad dream and that was all. I couldn't really have been abducted by aliens.

The thing was I started gaining weight and yet I wasn't eating much more than I had been, I tried exercising more, but the weight gain continued. I was hesitant to ask my colleagues at the hospital for advice as I was worried as to what they might find. One afternoon I went into an ultrasound room that was not in use that day and scanned my large tummy. I saw a baby inside. It looked much like a human foetus, although there were some shapes I couldn't identify. It seems I am carrying an alien child."

Dominic finished in almost a wail and looked at his Dad. He thought his Dad had sat remarkably calm through his whole story.

"I am not sure what to say, it certainly seems to happen to our family doesn't it?" Merlin said with a wry smile. "Still its happened and I am sure we can make the best of it, your family will stick by you."

Dominic looked a little incredulous "Stand by me? How are we going to get it out? I am not a woman and people will notice that its not a normal child."

"Calm down, son." Merlin said touching his son on the arm. "It seems to me that if that had wanted to kill you they would have done. You are currently growing this baby and I think they will have a figured a way to get it out. Killing you would just ensure the baby has no one to care for it. As to people noticing its different. You have already said it looks mostly humanoid. So far this family has produced four imaginary friends with unusual hair and eye colours and we have adopted a unicorn. I think we can pass off an alien as one of us."

Dominic wasn't entirely convinced, but felt so relieved to have told his Dad and find his so understanding. Merlin talked to Owen and they pledged to take care of Dominic and his little one. 

Merlin turned out to be right. One day when Dominic felt so huge he felt that he must burst he felt a tingling and the bright lights he had seen round the spaceship covered his tummy. The next second he was holding a small green baby.

Dominic named him Spock and wondered if they could pass him off as another distant family member with unusual colouring.
