Chapter 117 - Highest Heights and Lowest Depths

The next couple of years past swiftly and for the most part, very happily for Lizzie.

She threw various parties where she got to know the towns celebrities very well and she was getting more and more small acting parts and becoming a name in the business. The only really sad event was the death of her Uncle Dominic. Hermione visited them often for company and to talk over the past with Owen.

Lizzie felt very blessed to have such a loving boyfriend as Harold.

As she was considering her good fortune over one meal, Harold suddenly asked her "What are you thinking?"

"Oh, just how lucky I am." smiled Lizzie in return.

"I'm glad" said Harold smiling back and standing up he took both her hands in his and brought her to her feet.

"I have something I need to ask you", he said.

"Lizzie I love you with all my heart, will you be my wife?"

Lizzie was overjoyed and almost crying the word yes, she threw herself into Harold's arms.

Such a joyous event had to be celebrated and the next night they held an engagement pool party at their house for all their friends. It was a lovely evening and Lizzie felt that she had never been happier.

If only the evening could have ended there.

Much later when most the guests had gone home, Lizzie went into the garden to clear up some of the plates and found that the garden wasn't empty, but that Henry and Tiffany were there.

Looking again Lizzie realised that it wasn't Tiffany but Ruth Field and as she watched they began kissing.

Lizzie was shocked and was just about to turn away when she felt a presence beside her. She turned and saw Tiffany. Lizzie just stared unable to say anything and as Tiffany marched outside. Lizzie retreated thinking that there didn't need to be any more witnesses to what was about to happen.

A  huge shouting match ensued and ended with Tiffany vowing never to speak to Henry ever again.

Later once Ruth and Tiffany were gone, Lizzie found Henry and said. "I saw from the window what happened."

Henry looked sheepish and replied "I didn't mean it to, I thought I cared about Tiffany but somehow I never really got Ruth out of my heart. I ran into her a few weeks ago and we had coffee and all my feelings that I thought I had buried returned and then tonight I kissed her and she kissed me back. I know I should feel sad about Tiffany but I have realised that it is Ruth I really love."

The next few weeks were a roller-coaster. Lizzie was happy planning her wedding but also concerned for her brother. Tiffany had informed Ruth's husband Will and he had moved out and asked for a divorce. In the end Henry decided that his actions were damaging Lizzie reputation and to limit the damage he moved out and got his own place. Lizzie only hoped that it would all work out in the future and Henry would settle down and be as happy as she was.

  1. I'm so glad For Lizzie. It's nice she is settled and happy. She looks very stylish. I can't wait for the wedding! It's going to be so much fun. It’s great that she is doing so well in her career. Let hope she is a major star soon
    Naughty Henry.....Tsk Tsk

Cheating on your girlfriend is never a good idea..... I wonder if he and Ruth will get together and have kiddies or if this is just a passing affair... I'm glad he moved out of the house. His arm hair isn’t half as fun as Merlin’s…..

I mourn the loss of Dominic, such a sad thing to happen through he must have been very old. He had a good life, went a bit wrong at first what with having an alien baby but it went right when him and Hermione got together. I'm sure they had many happy years together.

    xxxxxxxxxx
