Chapter 2 - Generation One

Generation one is the prehistoric era and begins with you designing your own caveman and cavewoman. I named mine Laughingbear River and Littlefeet Leaf.

I found a good cheat that let me unlock the outfits the outfits above that came with Sims 3 Ambitions.

Generation one abides by the following rules:

'It's the early days of civilization for your family! Once entering CAS, it's up to you to create a strong female and male couple that reflect the times (I suggest lots of animal furs, and very little clothing). They are to share no relationship with the other - it's your job to develop that later. They should be placed on 345 Riverblossom Hills Drive, where you will then be allowed to enter a cheat. The "kaching" cheat is to be used 6 times - granting you 6,000 additional simelons to build a home for your family. No sims are allowed to work, although the family may make money by fishing and gardening. No sims on lot may complete "oppurtunities" offered by the game. No adoptions are to occur during the first generation.
Points:
  • 1 pt. for every gardening skill gained by a female family member.
  • 1 pt. for every fishing skill gained by a male family member.
  • 5 pt. for every sim that masters the painting skill.
  • 5 pt. for every female that masters the cooking skill.
  • 5 pt. for every male that masters the athletic skill.
  • 10 pt. for every child born on the lot

With these rules in mind I chose the traits my couple would have. Traits were introduced in Sims 3. They give your sim a personality and change how they relate to the world around them, affecting their goals, preferences and abilities.

With the generation one point scoring system in mind, I gave my caveman Laughingbear River the following traits:

Angler - so he gains the fishing skill faster

Athletic - so he learns this skill faster and tires less easily

Loves the Outdoors - this gives him a mood boost for being out of doors

Artistic - so he masters the painting skill faster

Handy - so he can fix things easier

My cavewoman Littlefeet leaf has the following traits:

Green Thumb - develops the gardening skill faster

Natural Cook - develops the cooking skill faster

Loves the Outdoors - this gives her a mood boost for being out of doors

Artistic - so she masters the painting skill faster

Neat - To make her neat and care for her home

I also designed them a home with a separate outhouse for the bathroom and toilet (they need this in generation two). I couldn't make it look exactly like a prehistoric cave but I tried to give it that feel and I gave them a pond to fish in. Now they are all ready to go, chapter three will be the start of the story.

The backstory from the legacy challenge is as follows:

The time traveling device used by Don Lothario caused a ripple of time for the town of Riverview. Somehow, when Don Lothario was sent back in time, a family of sims from the past were brought into the future. With the town divided between the original sims and those of the time traveling persuasion, one family takes it upon themselves to enter a more modern lifestyle - one generation at a time.

  1. I like this post - they look the geniune article.

I do think of neolithic man being handy (especially with a club in hand).

A neat cave woman is a neat idea:

'Zug - how many times do I have to tell you to take your shoes off before you come into the cave?'

I love the names. Sounds such a fun idea.

It's great that they both love the outdoors, sounds like they are very compatible.

I'm sure I will love following the developments. xxxxxxxx
