Little Feet gazed across at Laughing Bear who had been out fishing since sunrise. The last few months seemed like a dream.
First they had awoken to find that they were no longer with their tribe, but in a foreign place. Little Feet hadn't even known Laughing Bear as he was from a different tribe. They had awoken in an alien world full of noise and busyness and confusion. Admittedly, no animals had tried to eat them and they lived in safety that she had never thought was possible.
It had been explained to them that an accident had brought them here and now they had to stay. Little Feet still didn't really understand, but the people had been kind to them. They had gifted them land to live on and even helped them make a small home for themselves there, decorating it to remind them of the homes they had left. Except this home was warmer and more comfortable. Still she missed the familiar smells and sounds.
Things were very different here, people needed money to live. Little Feet and Laughing Bear could not get a job as they were not qualified for anything. Neither of them could read or write. The only option open to them was to work their land. This way they could provide for themselves and hopefully make some extra they could sell.
Little Feet had once ventured out to the community garden which she had been told she could harvest vegetables from. It had been scary being among so many different people dressed in their odd clothes. No one had approached her though and she had collected many vegetables.
She didn't like to think of the future in this strange new place, although sometimes there seemed to Little Feet a possibility that there could be happiness in store for her. She was not the only outsider, Laughing Bear was here too and he had all the qualities that any woman would hope for in a potential mate.
He was strong and worked hard to provide. Still she didn't like to dwell on it, as the choice was his to make. All she could do was to keep the home and try and show what a worthy partner she would make.
It would be very hard to settle in. With Laughing Bear her only bridge to her past life surely they'll get closer
ReplyDeleteDo they share the double bed? I just wondered as it would be a little weird if they were complete strangers to share it but I supose they would be grateful for a proper bed.
ReplyDeleteIts a shame that they aren't qualified for anything and can't read or write but I'm sure as they both love the outdoors working the land will suit them.
I love the picture of Little Feet in the community garden. Everyone must seem so strange to her.
It's nice that she has started thinking about what a good partner Laughing Bear would be, I wonder what he thinks about it.
Love the picture of him eating his dinner on the toilet, they certainly did things differently back in his day. xxxxxxxxx
In reality they do share the double bed but story wise I guess Laughing Bear would be happy to sleep on the floor. It's not like he is used to comfort.
ReplyDeleteHe is on the toilet, she eating on the bath :-). They have a table and chairs now as they have earned enough money
So they used to eat in the bathroom often then? xxxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteits the funny game, it wants them to sit down to eat. If they have no chairs (they started with none as they couldn't afford them) then it chooses the bath and the toilet. Rather them than me!
ReplyDeleteNow they have chairs, so no more eating in the bathroom :)
I love the storyline! Great start. Oh, how I miss the sims. :)
