Everyone had been shocked when he announced his marriage to a woman he had met on holiday and who was less than half his age. Merlin wondered how everyone would react when they found out Aisha was pregnant. It wouldn't be long now till she started to show.
Owen once he had recovered from the shock had been very good about it all. He had acquiesced with his fathers suggestion that Aisha move into the family home and hadn't opposed the marriage once he had found out about the baby. Merlin felt very grateful to his son for his understanding.
Now Aisha was living with them she had removed her eastern garb.
The wedding took place in Spring and sadly just after the ceremony was completed they were treated to a very heavy April shower.
All the guests dashed inside to take cover. Happily it didn't last long and they were able to return outside to enjoy all the activities Merlin had laid on for the guests.
All his immediate family were there and he was happy to see Gwen dressed in eastern garments to lend him support. He had hoped that after she herself had fallen in love in Egypt, she would be understanding.
Merlin's was one of two weddings that year. Ronald River (the younger brother of Hermione) married Nyota (Spock's imaginary friend).
They began by living with Einstein, just next door to Owen. After six months they got their own place. It wasn't big but it was all theirs.
Dominic and Hermione became parents again and welcomed another set of twins into the world. This time a girl and boy pair, they named them Jenny and Callum.
The strain of so many little people was starting to show though and Merlin was a little worried about them.
