The River family had now reached the end of the pionner era under Merlin as their leader.

It was time to say goodbye to the pioneer mansion house and large gardens. 

Chapter 78 - Merlin's Leadership Comes to an End

Merlin was now the Fire Chief having reached the top of his career.

This meant he was given his own personal Fire engine and an alarm had been fitted in his house, so that he was now able to work from home. He could work on paperwork until the alarm would let him know that a blaze in town required his presence.

Merlin had fallen in love with China when he had visited with his Dad and they had both taken up Sim Fu.

"I need a word" Merlin said abruptly.

Chpater 75 - Goodbye Charli

At last the worst had happened and the family now stood round saying goodbye to Charli.

She had outlived all her generation and seen all her grandchildren grow into teenagers.

Chapter 74 - Merlin Visits Einstein

Merlin stood outside Einstein's new house, it was sad seeing where he now had to live after the lovely house that had been gifted to his father from Merlin's Dad Albin.
