Chapter 68 - Third Times a Charm

After the fears about Charli's health, everyone was surprised when it was Kwasi who collapsed one day and died. In contrast to Charli he had been in very good health.

This left only Charli and Melody River of generation two, who were still alive. All of Laughing Bear and Little Feet's children were now buried next to them.

Marie Curie had welcomed a second baby boy into the world and named him Darwin.

Charli went round to see him and welcome him to the River family. Jordan and Marie Curie had stopped speaking before Darwin had been born and Jordan wanted nothing more to do with her or his kids. Marie Curie had begun dating again. In no time at all she had developed a serious relationship with Denver Baggett.

Jordan had also met someone new and got married.

Merlin hoped that Marie Curie would have learn't from her dealings with Jordan and been a little more cautious in her new relationship. But just as Jordan married, Marie Curie announced that she and Denver were expecting a baby. 

She wasn't the only one, her brother Einstein had also announced his wife was expecting their first child. 

It was very welcome news to his grieving mother living with them, who now had something very positive to focus on as they got the house ready for the new arrival.

Clark and Latonya had held a small wedding service quite soon after becoming engaged and the reason quickly became apparent.

The baby boom had reached them too and Clark was delighted to be expecting his first child.

Lois's eldest Martha was now a teen and very good friends with Owen.

Both her brothers were also growing up fast.

All of Evelyn and Lance's children were now at school, whilst Gwen's little boy was now up and walking. 

He was brilliant blonde, which must have come down from his great grandfather Laughing Bear as his mother and father both had dark hair.

The River family tree was groaning under the weight of all the new arrivals, but Merlin watched them all with pleasure. The River family was flourishing and the neighbourhood was becoming full of Laughing Bear's descendants.
