Chapter 93 - Confronting Hermione

Dominic stood on Hermione's doorstep his heart hammering in his chest.

When she opened the door his heart leapt even though her demeanour wasn't inviting, she said "Oh, it's you." and narrowed her eyes.

Dominic replied "I need to talk to you, it's urgent."

Hermione stepped back letting him in.

Dominic continued "I have just had a chat with your Dad, he tells me that you are in trouble."

Dominic saw Hermione flush and he continued, "He tells me you are pregnant. About four months pregnant. Hermione, is it mine?"

Hermione responded" What does it matter if it is? you have made it clear you don't want to be with me. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone, you're safe." 

She went to turn away from him but Dominic grabbed her arm. "So I am going to be a father again?" He beamed down at her. He suddenly thought and went on "Hermione, will you marry me?"

Hermione turned away a tear escaping "Just because I am having your baby, we suddenly should get married. You have hardly spoken to me since that night. You snuck away without saying a word and then ignored me for months. I thought you were my friend, but you are just like every other man."

Dominic was surprised at just how hurt Hermione appeared to be and followed her turning her round to face him again.

"I am sorry, I thought it was best. I thought you would do better getting on with your life without me."

Hermione responded "You mean you had what you wanted and didn't want to see me again."

"That's not true, I have missed you soo much the last few months."

Hermione looked up at him confused, "You've missed me?"

"Yes" said Dominic smiling faintly down at her "I realised I have been in love with you for some time, but I freaked out. You are so much younger than me, I didn't want to tie you down, I thought you could do better."

"Wasn't that my decision to make, couldn't you have at least talked to me?"

"Your'e right I have been a total idiot" responded Dominic "I should have talked to you, we were friends. I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to pretend that it had been just a drunken night to me if we met face to face."

Hermione looked up questioningly "You really do care for me?"

Dominic responded "I am head over heels in love with you"  and taking her in his arms he kissed her and she clung to him. 

Breaking off he looked down into her blue eyes and said "Can you forgive me and let me spend the rest of my life making it up to you?"

Hermione smiled up at him and leant forward to kiss him again.
