"Do you have something to tell me?" he asked Hermione.
Hermione responded "I know you are angry, but I couldn't tell you until I had spoken to the father, I needed to talk to him first."
"I see" said Einstein his eyes narrowing "and where is the scoundrel, hasn't he got the guts to come with you?"
Dominic took a deep breath, his moment had come. "Actually, that would be me" he said his voice quavering slightly. Einstein's head snapped quickly in his direction, his eyes wide with surprise.
Dominic continued quickly "It was just the one night and I had no idea Hermione was pregnant until you told me. You have every right to be angry with me. We are friends and you trusted me. I didn't set out for this to happen. I felt like a brother to Hermione as she grew up, but we remained friends when she left school and my feelings changed, I was just too stupid to realise. I distanced myself from her to let her find someone her own age. "
Einstein had turned a nasty red listening to Dominic and all he could utter in a low voice full of venom was "You." He took a step forward looking livid.
Hermione interposed herself between them and faced her father. "It wasn't his fault, it was me who kissed him and started this whole thing."
Einstein replied "But he could have finished it, he didn't have to go and get you pregnant, did he?"
Dominic said simply "I want you to believe that I love your daughter and intend to marry her before the baby comes."
Einstein "And that is supposed to make it all better."
Dominic "No, I know what we did was stupid, but I do love your daughter and from here on in I am going to devote myself to taking good care of her."
Einstein was still breathing heavily, but he had stopped advancing on Dominic.
Hermione took a step towards her father and said "Dad, I love him too."
Einstein looked into his daughter's anxious face and felt a stab of loss. She was not his little girl any more. He replied gruffly "Well I suppose there is nothing more to say then."
Poor Einstein, it must be quite a shock to find out that Dom is the father and has been keeping that kind of secret from him. I suppose he didn’t know until just recently but Dom didn’t treat his daughter well.
ReplyDeleteEinstein looks like he is having a heart attack in the third picture. I really thought Einstein would end up hitting Dom. Dom did explain himself well but I bet Einstein is still not happy with him. The bead of sweat in the fourth picture just says it all. Love the firth pictures with Dom looking like a rabbit caught in the headlights. Very funny.
Einstein is right through marrying Hermione doesn’t make it any better what he did. At least they have sorted things out. I can’t wait to see their wonderful wedding. It will be great.
Poor Einstein his little girl has grown and doesn’t need him so much anymore. She is off out into the world now.

I got the pictures from choosing Dominic to ask Einstein for Hermoine's hand (and he said yes :)) but he made Dominic sweat first as you can see.
DeleteActually it's not a bead of sweat although it does look like it, he got wet in the rain so it is dripping off him, think it looks good though.
The pictures made me laugh too. Dominic looks rightly terrified, but wedding bells and babies next which I know we both love :).
