The madness which had started at the Prom wasn't showing any sign of leaving him and he wasn't sure what to do. Rowan had been taking every opportunity to chat to Freya at school and Merlin watched on eaten up with jealously. He found himself imagining all sorts of horrible things happening to Rowan and then felt incredibly guilty as Rowan was actually a good friend of his.
After school one day Merlin and Freya wandered to the local park to hang out. They stood staring at the fountain.
Freya said "I love this fountain, I wonder if there are any flats to let near by, I would like to see this from my window"
Merlin looked up confused "Are you moving out?" he asked,
Freya continued "Well we finish school soon, so I plan to get a job and then look for a place to live."
"But why can't you stay with us?" asked Merlin,
Freya answered "Your parents have been really kind looking after me, but once I am an adult I need to look after myself. Anyway I know how keen they are for you to get married and your future wife probably won't want me hanging around the place."
"I don't want you to go." Merlin said quickly and then continued "Guess you might find a place to live with Rowan."
"Rowan is just a friend, Merlin and that is all he will ever be."
"Really?" Merlin asked staring intently at her and she nodded back.
He took a moment to think and then replied "I have the perfect solution, marry me and you can stay living with us."
Freya stared at him and then said "That's sweet, but I am not sure that's the answer, besides I am not sure I am the daughter in law your father is hoping for".
"Don't you like me?" pressed Merlin
"Yes, of course."
"How much?" Merlin asked and his intense stare made Freya blush and look away embarrassed.
Merlin took heart from the blush and leaning forward kissed Freya. At first she did nothing and then she responded enthusiastically. A few minutes later they came up for air.
"Here's another question then if you won't marry me, will you go out with me?"
"Okay" said Freya smiling and kissed Merlin again.
Poor Merlin, poor Rowan. Thankfully Merlin just thought nasty things rather than actually did them. It's sooooo sweet that they are now together. I'm sure they will remember this moment at the fountain forever.

The fountain is very beautiful through. I wonder if they will marry and have lots of kids. She has such lovely eyes would be nice to pass them on.

DeleteWould say 100% definite on them getting married and having lots of kids, this is a legacy challenge! Will be interesting to see what the kids look like she has such an interesting face and colouring
Merlin seemed a bit to eager to propose! I thought the 'coming up for air' comment meant that they'd taken a swim in the fountain
