Chapter 72 - Sitting Pretty

Barely four months into their marriage Melody Suggs died leaving her widower Melvin.

She hadn't even lived long enough to meet her new grandchild.
Merlin watched on hoping that Melvin who had been left a sizeable inheritance by Melody would do the right thing and leave Einstein and Nichole in peace.

Melvin appeared to have other ideas and had been ingratiating himself with Nichole so that she wouldn't hear of him moving out so soon after Melody's death.

Nichole and Einstein soon welcomed a little girl to their family whom they named Hermoine.

Einstein's sister Marie Curie gave birth to another little boy called Newton. Newton had the dark colouring of his father Denver.

Merlin was glad to see that Marie Curie and Denver were still together and getting on well, although there seem to have been no talk of marriage or moving in together. Marie Curie's family was growing up.

Marie Curie's oldest; Galileo had a strong look of his father Jordan.

Whilst the second child, Darwin looked much more like Marie Curie.

Clark and Latonya also had a little girl and they named her Clara.

Merlin was now the father to four teenagers.

Though they were twins, Naomi and Dominic they were almost opposites in appearance.

Naomi in looks was much more like her Dad, whilst Dominic although the only child with fair colouring, had a strong physical appearance of his mother.

Dominic had developed his mother's startling blue eyes as he reached twelve years old much to everyone's surprise and he had been using them to good affect.

He had been pursuing Emma River (Naomi's imaginary friend made real). Emma was already the girlfriend of a boy called Hasselhof, but this hadn't deterred Dominic.

He had finally won his prize at the local park, but in doing so had made an enemy of Hasselhof.

Arturo Kent had graduated school and had joined the workforce. Harriet hadn't got up the nerve to ask him on another date as she was still at school, but she was doing her best to get to know him as a friend.

Merlin had also welcomed a new edition to his family in the shape of a little foal called Thunder.

He was the son of the Unicorn Uma and Caesar River, he had the same shimmering white as the Unicorn but apart from that was a normal horse.

Merlin felt that all in all things were going well for the River tribe as a whole. The past few years they had grown again as they welcomed in so many new babies. His only concern at the moment was the interloper Melvin, what would he be capable of?
