Chapter 11 - Party with a difference

Albin settled into life as Rosalyn's boyfriend. He often went to hers after school and worked on his homework.

Sadly with Albin's increased absence Patches continued her plant eating. Perhaps she missed Albin or perhaps the plants were just very tasty. Either way Little Feet wasn't impressed, but however many times she told her off when her back was turned more of her plants would disappear.

The plants were her livelyhood and so she decided in the end to fence off a portion of land to grow plants in. If Patches was very determined the fence would not stop her, but Little Feet hoped this would deter her.

Little feet was very surprised when her unknown plants grew into money trees. The leaves were actually bank notes. It seemed that money really did grow on trees. She decided to make some more trips to find other seeds. Who knows that other amazing plants she might be able to grow.

Both Kainda and Kwasi would help out in the garden. It was part of Kainda's duties as the girl of the house, but Kwasi also very much liked gardening. In fact he had an interest in all living things and hoped that he would be able to become a scientist one day when he left school. 

Kainda and Kwasi were now teens.




















Their friends had also grown up. Kainda had been close friends with Gary Pond, but he had gone a bit odd as he aged. He began wearing his hair unflattering long and had a strange dress sense. Kainda would not have cared about this, but what she did object to was the meltdown he had in one of her parties where he shouted at her in front of her other friends

Happily this circumstance was balanced out  by a rather nice looking young man called Dean who had joined their school. Dean got on well with both the twins and getting to know him had taken Kainda's mind off Gary's strange behaviour.

Kainda had been taking up new hobbies. She now liked both painting and sculpturing.

Kwasi on the other hand still went fishing with his Dad and also both Kwasi and Albin worked hard on their physiques spending time working out, very much influenced by their father's example. Both boys looked up to Laughing bear who had provided for his family in an alien world and they hoped to follow in his footsteps and make him proud.

Then the first very sad thing happened at one of the children's parties. Laughing bear's friend, Hunter Cotteneye fell to the ground and clutching his chest, breathed his last. Then a silvery outline of Hunter had floated off. The experience had really affected Laughing bear. He missed his friend terribly.

Little feet's baby was now a little man. Sefu was now going to school and had joined Scouts.

Little feet worried about her little boy. He was still very fond of his strange toy, but what worried her most was that he seemed to think the toy was alive. Sometimes she caught him talking to himself and he would swear he was talking to his stuffed toy he called Pond but as far as she could see he was talking to thin air. 

All she could hope was that it was a phase he would grow out of. 

Little feet knew that soon her babies would be all grown up and she wondered what they would choose to do in this world. There were so many possibilities open to them and Little feet hoped she would live long enough to see them all happily settled.
