Chapter 8 - Time flies

As is always the way when you wish that time would slow down it speeds up. Little Feet watched as her babies seem to shoot up overnight. Albin once her little man was now nearly fully grown.

The twins were no longer toddling round her feet but were now children who attended school. So that in the day only the youngest Sefu was at home with his Mum.

Laughing Bear took great pleasure in taking out the two older boys fishing at weekends, determined to pass on his skills to his sons.

It was upto Little feet to pass on her skills to Kainda. However Kainda seemed more interested in reading or painting rather than gardening or cooking.

Albin had always been rather shy but Kainda and Kwasi seemed in contrast to make friends easily. Kainda had introduced herself to some other kids one Saturday when her Mum had taken her to the local library.

She had met Gary Pond

and Claire Beech and Melody Pond

The children weren't the only ones getting older. Shana who Little Feet had met in the community garden when she first started harvesting vegetables was now getting very old. She had been kind enough to attend all the children's parties and Little Feet was very fond of her.

Little baby Sefu, as Little Feet still thought of him in her head, was now crawling around.

Little Feet loved her life and felt very blessed with all she had but yet she wasn't immune to worry. Lately two things had been on her mind especially.

The first was a stuffed animal that Sefu had acquired. It would sit in his cot whilst he slept and he would spend hours pulling it about on the floor. It was obvious to Little Feet he loved his new toy.

However Little Feet hadn't given it to him and neither had Laughing Bear. Little Feet guessed that one of the guests to his first birthday party must have given it to him but although she had asked all those she could think of she could not find out where it came from. For some reason it made Little Feet feel uneasy. She had the unnerving feeling sometimes that it was watching her and more than once she had felt that she had seen it move out the corner of her eye. At this point she decided that she had just been in too many days in a row and took Sefu out to clear her head.

This wasn't the only thing that worried Little Feet, a small ice cream van had taken to sitting outside their house. Sometimes Little Feet would rise in the night for a glass of water and find it sitting outside. It was very odd as no one in the house had ever bought an ice cream from it but still it sat there for hours before it would suddenly move away playing eerie music.

Little Feet wondered sometimes if her life was just too perfect that she had just invented these two worries. There was probably a perfectly innocent explanation for both of them. She determined to try and think no more of them but focus on the future and watching her little ones grow into young men and women.

  1. I love Gary Pond's tie - very neat. I wonder what's happening to Little Feet? Does she need something to get her mind busy as it looks like it's playing tricks in her...

  2. I'm so glad things are going so well for Little Feet. It's good to see her kids growing up and to find out more about their characters.

I think little feet should trust her instincts. That guy in the ice cream van is obviously a complete weirdo and should been kept an eye on. Hmmm I wonder where Sefu got that toy from.

It’s great that Laughing Bear is passing on his skills to his boys. I have a love of reading however maybe it would be good for Kainda to learn skills for her mum.

  3. Yeah an ice cream van with darkened windows, not to be trusted. How is he supposed to see his customers?
