Chapter 12 - Albin's unlucky in love

Albin had found himself in a relationship with Rosalyn after the prom and had decided to go along with it. For a few months all had been going well. Rosalyn was quite good fun and he enjoyed spending time with her.

As time went on Albin realised that he enjoyed Rosalyn's company as a friend and wasn't attracted to her.

He had asked her to the prom because she was the girl he knew best. The realisation that he wanted just friendship with Rosalyn was coupled to his awareness of his attraction to Melody Pond.

He decided at one of the parties that he needed to end with Rosalyn as their relationship was built on a lie and he told her so.

It ended in a big argument and she stormed off. Albin wished it hadn't had to be that way, but felt relief that he could now chat to Melody as much as he wanted without feeling guilty.

At the first opportunity he got he invited her to the park to meet him.

To begin with things seemed to be going well until Albin asked Melody how her day had been. She then totally freaked out complaining that she hated being outside and wondered why he had brought her to the park. Albin panicked and suggested that perhaps they could meet up another day instead. Melody was furious with him and told him he had wasted her time.

For date number two he chose the cinema, this was an indoor venue and was a classic date destination. Again things were going well as they chatted outside, however as they walked into the cinema, Melody freaked out and ran home. 

Albin was completely confused but decided as he had paid, he would watch his film. He didn't notice a teary Rosalyn getting up and leaving, unable to enjoy the film knowing he was so close.

Albin was almost a grown man and still had yet to find the woman of his dreams. He hoped that as he went into the adult world he would mix with a bigger variety of women and perhaps one day find Miss right as his first two attempts had ended in failure.
