Chapter 27 - Be mine

Albin and Charli were both proud of their new little man and named him Merlin.

To Albin his life was complete, he now had his heir. Merlin would carry on the family name and inherit the house. Albin was already looking far into the future to when his son would be grown up. He would pass over responsibility for the house once Merlin reached adulthood, just has his own father had done. Albin felt life had been very kind to him.
Albin had been promoted again at work and now worked as a plain clothes undercover specialist tracking the big criminals.

Kwasi to had been promoted and was now a carnivorous plant tender. A dangerous job, but Kwasi was quick on his feet and this was just another step on the ladder to one day running his own lab. Gone was the lab coat ( it was too easy for the plants to latch onto), he now wore a shirt and trousers and looked rather like a college professor Albin thought.

Dean and Kainda spent most of their spare time together and seemed very happy. One day Dean rang Kainda and told her he had something special planned.

He turned up early with a picnic basket and told her she would need sensible shoes as they were going on a long walk. Kainda was very curious, but Dean would tell her no more.Finally they arrived at a set of stones and Kainda looked on mystified

Dean explained "I had a long chat with your brother Albin, he told me about this place. It seems that when your Dad decided to propose to your Mum he brought her here to this beautiful place. It was such a lovely story that I decided to follow his example. "

Dean knelt and produced a box from his pocket and asked "Will you marry me Kainda?"

Kainda returned home full of joy ready to tell her happy news and then saw the ambulance. Running inside she found her whole family there and read the news in their faces. Little Feet who had seemed so well was finally gone. Her mother would never know her exciting news and Kainda broke down and sobbed, happiness replaced by heavy weight.
