Chapter 28 - Kainda's new life

Once again the family were brought together in tragedy and another gravestone was added to the family cemetery.




Kainda's joy had been over shadowed by tragedy, but once the funeral was over Albin decided to talk to Kainda about her marriage and her new life.

A short conversation with Kainda convinced him that Dean's family were not rich and would not be able to help the young couple and Albin set about seeing what he could do. He visited his bank manager and discussed options.

One afternoon a week after their first conversation he found Kainda outside caring for the horses. Albin smiled as she looked up, she was his only sister and had a special place in his heart.

"I have some news for you, I have a wedding gift I hope you are going to love."

Kainda looked surprised and answered "I thought you were giving me the wedding, I never expected anything else." 

Albin continued " I have bought a plot of land near here and propose that we build a house for you and Dean. It wont be as grand as this I am afraid, but it will be all your own and you wont be far from us." Kainda hugged her brother tightly not knowing how to thank him enough.

With that decided the wedding was all arranged and before long Dean and Kainda were standing together under the wedding arch saying their vows. 

Kainda was so happy to be Mrs Lutz, but also there was a tinge of sadness to be leaving her home. Still she reflected that she wouldn't be far away only three minutes walk at most.

With her new life came a new look, Dean had respected Albin's choice to keep the family in the medieval era, but now Kainda would be living with him he felt it was time she joined the modern age.

After the wedding she dressed in her new clothes and took one last look at the place that had been her home. A whole new life awaited her now.
