Chapter 20 - A Wedding

The big day finally approached and Albin had thought long and hard about his outfit and had managed to keep it a secret from Charli.

Kwasi and Laughing Bear were to be wearing similar outfits as Father of the Groom and Best Man.

Charli turned up early on the wedding morning to see Albin, she was soo excited that their wedding day had arrived at last. A buffet was to be set up in the garden, with chairs and a wedding arch for the ceremony itself. It was a grander affair than Laughing Bear and Little Feet's wedding, all those years ago.

Charli stayed and dressed at their house. She had chosen a modern wedding dress. The last modern clothes she would be wearing in a long time. She had agreed to dress as the others dress and conform to the house rules. She liked the outfits and so had readily agreed to that, she had struggled with the fact that she wasn't able to get a job. She had had a dream to become a journalist, but she had made her choice and chosen Albin and now looked forward to their life together. She knew that there would be many things to do in their new home and she would not find herself bored or lonely.

Charli and Kainda had spent sometime getting to know each other. Kainda was glad to have another woman to help her in the house. They could share the gardening and cooking between them. Charli was looking forward to a new friend her own age and hoped that her and Kainda might become very close.

Before long the time for the ceremony was upon them.

The guests cheered as the newlyweds had their first kiss and Little Feet shed at tear that her little boy was now all grown up.

The newly weds felt so blessed cutting the cake surrounded by their friends and family.

The party went on late into the evening and most people seemed to have a good time. However Kwasi struggled, he was happy for his brother, but he still felt so raw. He did find some satisfaction in flirting with Sophie Beech, Claire's sister.

Sefu on the other hand watched Cassandra intently and realised that he hoped in a few years it would be there turn to get married.

The River's had now gained a new member and all eyes were looking to the future and in time a new generation.
