Chapter 23 - Hello and Goodbye

It wasn't long before Albin and Charli were able to tell everyone they were expecting their first child. Charli was excited to be expecting their first baby, but found that she got terrible back ache that Albin was happy to massage away.

Over the months as Charli got bigger she went back to modern clothes and wore relaxing trousers and a stretchy top, she just couldn't garden or move easily in her medieval clothes.

Albin was now a fully fledged policeman and his family were very proud of him and he loved wearing his new uniform, it made him feel important.

Patches had had a second foal, a little boy this time who they had names Quicksilver.

Peaches was now a fully grown horse.

Kainda rode Patches in horse races and Peaches in jumping competitions, Kainda had been practising at home with Peaches, getting her to jump over a small bar.

Patches had won a beginner race and Peaches none so far, but she knew if she kept training them she could win. Where ever they came in a race they were always awarded prize money which was great and Kainda felt like she was contributing to the family.

Before they knew it Charli went into labour and the family welcomed a little girl into their midst. They named her Evelyn.

She was a joy to the whole family and her grandmother especially was very fond of her. There was joy in the house, but it was to be short lived. Only four months into Evelyn's life, tragedy struck and Laughing bear died.

Albin was glad Laughing bear had got his wish and met his granddaughter, but now wished that they hadn't waited so long to have her. The house renovations and wedding preparations now seemed wasted time

Little Feet was plunged into grief and Albin feared he would soon lose his Mum as well.

  1. That starts so happy, and ends so sad.

A least Laughing Bear did get to see his first grandchild.
I'm surprised the police let Albin show off his hairy arms - I thought there would be a policy on that kind of thing!

    1. Life is like that sometimes I guess.

The hairy arms are to intimidate the criminals or when he needs to go undercover :)
